Gabriel appeared and informed Mary that she, a virgin, was to be the mother of God, Mary spoke thereby “Be it done to me according to thy word”
As a mark of reverence, millions of people around the world offer prayers to Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ on 8th September on her birthday. She walked on the earth and blessed the souls. She continues to share and brings bliss that human beings can understand. Mary emerges as Madonna whom artists depicts as holding a naked newborn and the other image is that of Pieta, mother of the suffering servant, the sorrowful mother. Painters paint Mary standing in solitude at the foot of the cross, the woman whose heart was pieced with a sword.
The suffering of Jesus brought great sorrow into Mary’s Life.
