Awaken the kid in yourself as you Host the Party for your Child. Select a Theme and use the child’s imagination to be creative yourself. Birthday parties aren’t the only occasion. You can host various Theme Parties to please yourself and the child. A Happy Heart is the choice even of the Angels and nothing ever makes you Happy when you are with Kids.
I got a myriad of ideas to Host Parties as I did host quite a few when my son was a young boy. He was fondly called ‘Popeye’ as this Spinach eating Sailor Man always attracted him to watch the cartoons for hours apart from the Mickey-Donald Cartoons. This gave the idea of starting the Theme Parties – Quite naturally the first Theme Party had to be ‘Cartoon Characters’
POPEYE THEME
Popeye being the theme, the dress code was with a scarf wrapped round the neck and the peculiar cap with a sticker label to stick on the shirt ‘I yam what I yam’ – Screening of the Popeye film from You Tube Playlist and for Dinner, Spinach-cheese Coin Pizzas, Spinach cheesy pastas and Spaghetti along with other goodies were served. Give masks to wear and band to wrap over forehead and lollipop cigars. Welcome board with Popeye cut out and balloon Pillars with Popeye Posters; also balloon decorations.
MOWGLI THEME
Plan the favorite Kids Mowgli Theme – the Walt Disney’s “The Jungle Book” hit got inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s Mowgli story . This a superb pick for Indian Children with their favorite Song ‘jungle jungle phool khila hai’ playing to add the fun. Arrange for big Mowgli posters all around the party place. Organize Games with Mowgli song playing for the Musical Chair. Add more games like ‘Farmer in the den’ and ‘Fire in the mountain, run run run’ and other Animal Rhyme games. Order for Elephant shape cake or small cup cakes with animal characters on it. Set a green food menu – a green drink, lots of leafy veg dishes and to match it, brown – biscuits topped with gems and chocos. Inspire a ‘Go Green’ Environment theme and for the give away gifts, let there be ‘Bamboo plants’ or plant saplings like Tulsi, floral plants, etc. Welcome Board with Mowgli cut out and Balloon flower arch.
Christmas Crib making, tree making and dance parties
The festive spirit of Christmas has to be EQ+SQ=Fun – The story of Jesus excite the kids as they hear the story of Mark, the lame boy and Mother Mary giving birth to Jesus in a stable lying in a crib with Joseph, shepherds, camels, sheep and gifts around. The Christmas symbols like Santa claus, Stars, bells, balloons, ribbons, Christmas tree, holly, etc. attract the child as they give their hand to set up the stable and place the crib. Arranging the Crib (You get all the Nativity – Crib Set at Christian shop eg. Pauline Stores) and decorating the Christmas tree is fun. Talk about the story and sing carols, rhymes and kids songs while decorations are on. Organize Games or Dance for kids. Light candles and place a string to hang all ‘Merry Christmas’ and ‘New Year’ Cards brought by children. Also hang cute stars, bells, ribbons and balloons. A cake or pastry must to toast the party with lots of sandwiches, coin pizzas, wafers and all the kiddy likes. A Santa clad Santa Claus to entertain the children with lot of give-away gifts and even a photo session with the Santa is fun! The music choice could range from Kids to current likes but the best music can be English dance music meant for kids. Let Kids light the candles near the crib and Take a Pledge to spread peace : eg
