Respect other people
Let's start with "Goldilocks and the Three
Bears" It gives an opportunity to talk to the child about respecting other people. If
the child is starting to play at a friends house, this is a great way to teach him
to ask before eating food and stay off from picking things there which is indecent action.
In Goldilocks fairy tale, Mama Bear makes
porridge for Papa Bear and Baby Bear. They leave it to cool. Goldilocks breaks into their
home, tastes their cereal, tries their furniture, and falls asleep in Baby Bear's bed.
When the Bears arrive to find her there, this rude, remorseless little girl just runs
away. Baby Bear forgives her, bless his furry heart.
You can talk about the basic plot of the story with
simpler things such as how many bears were there. Then move to the plot and discuss what
happened to whom. Ask the child of their Best character and why they like and choices they
would make if they were their favorite character. By this way, instill the thoughts of
moral values of the story to the child who realize to behave and respect others.
Keep your word - The Frog King
In "The Frog King" by the Grimm Brothers, a
spoiled but beautiful princess loses her ball in a well. A hideous frog retrieves it for
her after she promises to love him and play with him. But she breaks her word as soon as
she has her ball back until her father, the king, intervenes. Still, she's reluctant to
make the frog part of her life and she is so reluctant that she throws the frog against
the wall. This nasty toss releases the enchanted amphibian from a spell, turning him into
a prince.
The King made his girl realize that she has to keep the
promise shows that there is a value for the word given and one should keep the
promise The moral here is also that people who keep their promises are rewarded in the
end, even if they're imperfect like the princess who throws away the frog and so is this
right? Fairy tales arent necessarily meant to show things that really happened. So,
if the kids think that the princess gets away with throwing the frog against the wall,
this is an opportunity to talk about the fantasy element of entertainment.. If a super man
can fly with super powers and help around people, it does not mean that the child can act
like a Super man and imitate him. This would only land him into trouble and hooked to a
hospital bed!
Be kind to your brothers and sisters - Cinderella
In the story of Cinderella, she is forced to sweep the
floor by her mean stepmother and stepsisters. This shows that people who take advantage of
others aren't very admirable. This is a great story to talk about how important it is,
whatever your family situation, to be kind to your siblings. The physical ugliness of the
stepsisters and stepmother can be attributed to their ugly behavior. "Ugly is as ugly
does." And so, one should be kind to their brothers and sisters and not be jealous,
rude or misbehave with them.
Be humble - The Conceited Apple Branch
The story of Hans Christian Andersen The Conceited
Apple Branch is a tale that features a princess who is actually an apple branch,
overwhelmed by her own beauty. She thinks of the other flowers in the field as pitiful
beings who are all no doubt jealous of her splendor. It isnt until she is painted by
an artist and gets a little love from the Dandelion that the apple branch learns that even
simple flowers are remarkable creations. Not all princesses are human, even if it seems as
though all of them are built like twigs.
This story is a great one to share with kids who are
flying high with their successes, so high that they might feel like looking down on other
kids. Its message is that, even if you're the Top shot of your day, everyone is beautiful in their own
way. And sometimes the people with the real beauty aren't the ones who get the most
attention.
Be polite - The Princess and the Pea
The "Princess and the Pea" tells the story of
a girl who shows up shivering and wet at a castle claiming that she is from a royal
family. The queen tests her by tucking a pea underneath a stack of mattresses and quilts,
for a true princess would feel it. The next morning, the queen asks her how she slept.
"Horribly!" the princess says. Although this is the answer the queen wanted, and
it gets the princess a husband. Can you imagine how you'd feel if a surprise houseguest
told you the mattress you provided her was so lumpy she couldn't sleep?
It's a gentle way to explain to children how important
it is to be polite to their hosts, regardless of whether the peas are served on a plate or
under a mattress. The best lesson in the story may be that while kids are entertaining,
both on Dining table and on TV, munching food and guest comes, there is always a polite
way to change the course of action and be polite to others. It may so happen that a guest
arrives and the child have to sleep with the parents so there isnt any point in
grumbling but be polite and adjust to the situations.
There are many yet
tales that shows the importance of friendship, courage, strength, sacrifice etc. but it is
more important on how the child selects to write the Book review and while writing the
Best Part of the story and his Opinion of the story, the parent or
the teacher can realize the mode of his life turn swirling towards a direction which can
be motivated and encouraged towards being a better person. One cannot teach
Personality Development in a day or two just with a few lectures here or there
but it is the day to day upbringing of the children right from the Jump Start
This is the real Zing thing, after all! |
