September 2, 2010 is being celebrated
as Janmashtmi - the day Lord Krishna is said to be born.
Krishna has ever been the
perfect ‘Avatar’ whose influence on human lives far exceeds that of any other
God incarnate. Krishna is depicted as Govinda, who is the prime cause of all causes, the
embodiment of wisdom and selfless action as well as a human liberal and practical
philosopher with foresight. Three great works
enumerate Krishna’s Teachings : Bhagwad Gita, Anugita and Udhavagita. Bhagwad Gita,
like Bible or Koran, for Hindus, is the sacred Book depicting ‘Mahabharata’. The
advice Krishna renders to disheartened Arjuna at Kurukshetra, immortalized the Bhagwad
Gita, greatly influenced philosophers and continues to inspire millions of people
worldwide.

Bojaxhiu was born on 26 of August, 1910 in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia
(then part of the Ottoman Empire) in the family of Nichola and Drana Boaxhiu
as the youngest one of three children. Her father was a famous trader and
member of the City Council of Skopje as the only Catholic member. Bojaxhiu
family house was open to all, especially to the poorest. On August 27, 1910
she was baptised in the Catholic Church "Sacred Heart of Jesus," and took
this date for her birthday. At five and a half years of age received her
First Communion. In 1919 Nikola Bojaxhiu died and then her family suffered a
financial difficulties.

day is dedicated to the seers, the rishis. It is called the Raksha Bandhan. Bandhan means
Bondage; Raksha means protection - This means a bondage that protects 'You' - your bondage
to the knowledge, to the master, to the truth, to the self. Raksha Bandhan rituals has a
wisdom behind it is that it is a lifelong process of practising and promoting human,
moral, cultural, social and spiritual values and empowering it will help to restore
positivity and virtues in life and society which the rakhi festival portrays.

species, but aren’t they also a great renewable energy

threatened by the preponderance of soy milks now available
in supermarkets.
